Fun game. It was really short but it left me wanting more! I am interested to see what kind of upgrades there will be and what more you can do with the ore. Using it to make yourself heavier in the first area was neat. More mechanics like that for puzzle solving could be pretty cool.
There are a couple of quality of life upgrades I think could be nice. A depth meter or mini map to see where you are and when you collect the radars maybe they could point an arrow on the mini map or even on the main screen. Keep it up the game is great!
Pretty fun, liked the intro sequence. Upgrading felt good, demo seemed a bit short. The area felt a bit barren when the crystals are the only thing to mine. Keep it up.
Yeah, I had a few more ground types + ores ready but I handled time badly at the end (turned out I had a bunch of web specific bugs to fix last day) so I didn't get the time to enable them before the deadline, sadly :<.
Really chill digging game, i like it. My rocky boy is really nice !
Intro is fantastic and it fits really well the game. GG !
Yeah this is pretty much the coolest game I've played yet. I'm getting MotherLoad vibes from it. Music is super chill. Dialogue is funny. If you publish the final game on Steam, I will totally buy it. Nice work! And remember,
...rocks cannot move
Thanks :)
Yes, I'm focusing 100% on this game now, with the goal to release on Steam!
I need more! I need to go deeper!
First of all the art and music were fantastic and I had such a great vibe and time throughout the demo. I love games like this and I instantly want more.
The opening scene was amazing and really funny with the "You are a rock. Move with WASD. Rocks cannot move" really got me.
There was a little issue where I could already throw pickaxes at the start before I even had arms and as you mentioned in your description a little cache/lag issue but that didn't' stop me. I also quickly closed the end of demo popup and read the info.
I kept digging until I think I found the bottom where it was just an unbreakable blueish wall.
I really enjoyed this and my only complaint is that it was too short. Give me moreeeee!
I really like this game, I'm one of those people that have to destroy every block in the game. Unfortunately, doing that makes me trapped at the bottom. That combined with the carrying limit stops me at SHOW YOUR STRENGTH, unless there's something I'm missing. I really like the gameplay, love the mechanics. I do have arms and pickaxe before you actually get it in the game, I've played through twice, and it's been this way. I think there should be more of those unbreakable blocks to use as stepping stones to get back up, or be able to teleport/fast travel between shops. Great work! UPDATE: I figured out the strength :) , ok it does raise your max capacity up, I didn't miss anything now. Really looking forward to updates! UPDATE: I just realized that wasn't the end, I read the 'end of demo' being early, still playing! Yay more game
Ahah nice!
Yeah from saying a few peoples play I think I should add a couple more tutorials to make some stuff clearer.
If you get to the pink biome, you are pretty much done, especially since I forgot to turn on the ore generation there despite what the "end of demo" popup says ^^'
If you get at the bottom of the first biome and aren't strong enough, you get teleported back up, so people shouldn't get stuck usually.
(Need to use charge shot on the "door" to get teleported tho)
Thanks for playing! :)
Feels decent the game play loop could be tightened by making the blue ore exp, and when you hit a certain amount it allows you to upgrade with 3 choices, I know this is used heavily in vamp survivor games but seems intiutive
Hmm interesting, I may try a mode with that and see how it feels. Right now it's a bit awkward having to go back to a shop so that would solve that issue
Unfortunately couldn't play. It was stuck on loading 50% and then most likely crashed. Tried twice :(
On a good side, glad to see another Godot project and big kudos for well done Options menu. Nice to see so many options.
Judging by screenshots it looks like a really awesome and fun game. Love the visuals and their variety.
Ah, damn :(
I noticed that the loading is pretty long the very first time the game is started, but never had someone where it straight up failed when playtesting.
Could you try letting it run for a few minutes (if you haven't already) to make sure it's not just super slow? ^^'
Really liked your game (see my comment over there), Godot FTW!
This time it loaded a lot faster. Tbh, hard to believe this game was done as part of game jam. It feels like a really solid early access game. Its so polished. Game mechanics are great, visuals are well crafted, the audio is nice and relaxing. You did an incredible job with this game. It feels even better than on screenshots.
Some nitpicks are that I would prefer some more hover effects for better player feedback but thats a thing of preference I guess. Other than that I am amazed how well you put all the visual effects with the floating/rainbow text, effect animations and so on. Great example for Godot capabilities. I wouldn't be surprised if your game appeared on "5 Games Made in Godot To Inspire You" video series by StayAtHomeDev.
P.S. There was a small bug where it was super difficult to get out of the box with ores (Entrance is on the right side). Entrance of 1 block was too tiny and I tried multiple times to get out and couldn't. At the end just when I was about to quit, somehow it "fit" into the hole and I could get out :)
Wow, thank you so much :D
Yeah I love the BBcode effects in Godot, you can make some cool HUD in 30 seconds, really cool feature! For the rainbow text I just typed [rainbow] and I'm done, feels like cheating ;)
Ah... Shame I forgot about them. There were a few cases I wanted to do them but left "for better days". Oh welp :D
